People and Places of Sacred Interior Spaces
People and Places of Sacred Interior Spaces: Midrashic Monologues and Guided Meditations
by Laura C. Funk
This is a collection of imaginative works designed to help people grow in their spiritual journey. The first section of the book contains guided meditations written to help the reader become more in tune with their deep and abiding belovedness. They gently guide people to go deeper into their own stories, find emotional and spiritual healing, deep joy, and gracious love. They each begin with an opening to help guide your own intentions and end with a blessing the readers can take with them into life.
The second section of the book contains monologues written from the perspective of Biblical characters to fill in the blanks left by the sacred text. They borrow from that glorious Jewish tradition called Midrash where the faithful apply their sanctified imaginations and engage the people in and around the story to bring more fullness to the narrative. They seek to imagine answers to the "what if"s and the "what about"s in ways that honour the spirit of the Great Story.
